Four steps to a new keyboard.
Ten minutes, no software to install, nothing to solder. If you get stuck, write to a human — we answer within one working day.
-
Charge both halves
USB-C to any charger. A full charge takes about two hours and lasts six weeks with the backlight off. The LED turns green when it's done.
-
Turn them on and pair
Flip the switch inside the front edge of each half. Hold the top-left key for two seconds to open pairing, then pick superkeys L and superkeys R in your device's Bluetooth list.
-
Flash your keymap
Open the browser editor, drag keys around, and save. It writes straight to the board over USB or Bluetooth and keeps the last working version on the device.
-
Set your tent angle
Start flat for a week, then add the 5° feet. Most hands settle at 5–10°. Angled further than 20° usually means the desk is too high.
Quick links
Docs are versioned next to each firmware release. Match the version printed on your test log.
Your keymap is a file you own.
The boards run ZMK, an open-source firmware maintained outside this company. Layers, combos, macros, tap-hold, per-key lighting — all of it is editable in a browser editor that talks to the board over USB or Bluetooth.
- Edits apply instantly, no reflashing over a cable
- Your last working keymap stays on the board as a fallback
- Export your layout as a file and share it with anyone
- Community keymaps for 34, 36 and 46-key layouts
If a firmware update ever leaves a half unresponsive, hold the reset pad behind the left thumb key while plugging in USB to return it to bootloader mode.

| Layers | Up to 8, shipped with 4 |
| Combos | Yes, with per-combo timing |

Make it last a decade.
Cells
Charge before storage and once every three months if the board sits idle. Don't leave a half on a charger permanently — a 3.7 V pack that never cycles ages faster. Replacement cells are $24 and take one screwdriver.
Keycaps & case
Warm water, a drop of dish soap, a soft cloth. No alcohol on anodised aluminium — it dulls the bead blast. Pull keycaps from the top, never from the side.
Switches
Pull straight up with the puller. If a key double-types, reseat the switch first; if it persists, swap in a spare from the parts bag taped under the case.
Answers, in order of how often we're asked.
Only one half is typing.
Pair them one at a time, left first. If a half flashes but doesn't type, it's paired to another device — hold the top-left key for two seconds to switch profiles, or delete the pairing on the old device.
How long does the battery really last?
Six weeks of full working days at default settings with no backlight. Backlight at 50% cuts that to roughly ten days. Both halves report their level through the battery key combination in your keymap.
Can I use it with two computers at once?
Yes. Each half remembers three paired hosts. Switch the active host from the keys and both halves follow within about a second — useful for a work laptop and a personal desktop on the same desk.
Does it work with Windows, Linux, iPad and Android?
Anything with Bluetooth LE or a USB port. We test on macOS, Windows 11, Ubuntu and iPadOS before each batch ships. The 2.4 GHz receiver is the fallback for locked-down machines where Bluetooth is disabled.
I've lost the receiver.
Any superkeys receiver pairs to any of our boards — the pairing happens over the 2.4 GHz link, not a factory key. Replacements are $19 including the USB-A adapter.
Can I get a different plate or switch weight?
Yes, on request at order time. FR4 plates are free; heavier springs are $8. Tell us in the order form and we'll confirm before we start the batch.
How do I clean under the switches?
Unplug, pull keycaps, then blow out the plate with air from a distance. Don't use solvents and don't submerge the case. The PCB sits above a foam layer, so crumbs don't reach the electronics.
Is there a left-handed version?
Both halves are symmetric and fully remappable, so you can mirror any layout. There is no separate left-handed model.
Two years, parts included.
Covers the case, PCB, cells, switches and radios against defects in materials and workmanship. It doesn't cover a board that's been in a lake, or one opened with a hammer.
- Years 0–1: repaired or replaced, shipping both ways covered
- Years 1–2: parts shipped free, you pay one-way shipping
- After year 2: parts at cost, forever — that's the point of a repairable board
